Creating Collective Energies

Seminar with Drung Collective founders Tenzin Tsetan Choklay and Sonam Tseten
Monday, May 26, 11:00 am

This seminar will be presented by visiting filmmakers Tenzin Tsetan Choklay and Sonam Tsetan, who both directed one of the films in the anthology film “State of Statelessness.” They will discuss how they developed a unifying concept across multiple short films, and how they tried to bring diverse voices together around a shared theme—while allowing each filmmaker’s unique vision to shine.

As founders of the film collective “Drung Collective” which also has a program that mentors and supports young filmmakers to make short films, they will also examine the foundations of forming a film collective: how to build a creative community, foster meaningful collaboration, and support emerging talent. From early ideation to final cuts, this seminar will walk through the full journey of guiding and mentoring young filmmakers—helping them shape their ideas, develop their storytelling skills, and bring their projects to life.

Whether you’re an educator, filmmaker, or just passionate about collective storytelling, this seminar offers practical tools, inspiration, and real-world insights into making films together.

Monday, May 26, 11:00 – 12:30 pm, City Cinema (Club Room)
