The Poetry of Animation

workshop with Subarna Dash
Sunday, May 25th, 11:00-12:30pm
City Cinema (Club Room)

In this 1.5 hour workshop, visiting animation filmmaker Subarna Dash will provide an intimate workshop on the lyrical and poetic potential of animated storytelling. Through an in-depth exploration of her creative process, Subarna will share how she approaches animation as both an art form and a poetic language—blending abstraction, emotion, and narrative.

Participants will gain insight into her unique style and artistic methodology, from conceptual development and scripting to visual design and execution. The session will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the making of her acclaimed animation “The Girl who Lived in the Loo” with a focus on transforming abstract ideas into expressive animated sequences.

Designed for animators, filmmakers, visual artists, and creative storytellers, this workshop offers an inspiring look into the intersection of image, idea, and movement.
