The Golden Khadar goes to Doen by Lhawang Lodel for his bold and courageous exploration of his own inner voice and fear. By using just three abstract images and black screen for a quiet dialogue with himself, Lhawang manages to show the power of cinema.<\/p>\n

Silver Khadar<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cAshes of I\u201d<\/a> by Mid-Cloud Studio<\/p>\n

Jury statement:<\/p>\n

The Silver Khadar goes to \u201cAshes of I\u201d stood out for its powerful evocation of memory, transition and impermanence. Through poetic visuals and dreamlike structure, it conjures the atmosphere of the Bardo\u2014blurring past and present, life and afterlife. It is deeply imaginative and affecting work, and we are honoured to recognize it today.<\/p>\n

Bronze Khadar<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cPoint of View\u201d<\/a> by Jamyang Dorji<\/p>\n

Jury statement:\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Bronze Khadar award goes to a film that is raw and evocative- shot in a simple way, yet it made the viewer deliberately uncomfortable and as though we were being viewed and judged. We unanimously chose this film for the Bronze Khadar award in its bold attempt to remind us of the importance of kindness in an increasingly indifferent world. The Brzone Khadar goes to \u201cPoint of View\u201d by Jamyang Dorji.<\/p>\n

Suraj Bhattarai captures not just the spirit of the team, but the soul of a community\u2014hopeful, determined, and full of heart. It\u2019s a story that reminds us of the joy and meaning we find when we come together for a shared dream.<\/p>\n

Transparency is a brave and deeply moving work. Tenzin Tsheyang brings sensitivity and care to a subject often left unspoken, and in doing so, gives voice to those who need to be heard. We truly admire her belief in storytelling as a tool for awareness and change. It\u2019s a powerful reminder that films can be a force for change\u2014and that sometimes the softest voices are the most powerful.<\/p>\n

Meditative, poetic essay by Pelden Dorji. It captures the beauty of professions we are losing in the rapidly progressing times, and depicts the life of a protagonist who lives on the fringes of society and holds onto older values, and is not afraid to retain his authenticity and vulnerability. The cinematography stands out, evoking a sense of community and continuity in an ever changing, alienating world.<\/p>\n
